Online browser gaming has raised the bar further with the Unity 3D plugin for Flash games.
The latest Star Wars game from Lego – The Quest for R2-D2 – demonstrates an interactive experience that matches anything on the previous generation of Playstation (2) and possibly more.
This same technology can be used on an iPhone or iPod touch, so expect to see virtual worlds becoming the norm on a range of platforms.
