As we look ahead to a new year, we bid farewell to 2022. It wasn’t the easiest of years for a lot of people (er, is there a theme to these posts?!), but it was one that nevertheless had its fair share of fun, interest and new connections.

As is our annual tradition, we’re marking the end of the year with a look back at a few of our most enjoyable and noteworthy projects, as well as some of our top team news.

Of course, we can’t mention everyone, but we really do value every single client we’ve worked with this year. Whether we’ve undertaken a large-scale project or something much smaller, we’re appreciative of all Nixon clients – we wouldn’t be where we are without you.

boatfolk

With a whole host of brands making up the boatfolk family, we’ve been able to work on a wide range of projects this year. Among these were new brand guidelines and messaging, and a new website, for boatpoint, boatfolk’s in-house boat brokerage. We’ve also been busy with signage, exhibitions and advertising, as well as a number of new hospitality brands (to be revealed in 2023!).

Pendennis

This year, we’ve been immersed in all things Pendennis, creating a new user-centered website that’s aligned with the impressive standard of the brand’s overall offering. Alongside this, we’ve also led on a medium-term ad campaign with dedicated photography, and produced Pendennis’ Voyage magazine, which acts as a valuable marketing tool at international events.

Hive Business

We’ve been working with the dental industry experts Hive Business since 2021, creating regular content to support the brand. This year, we collaborated on regular blog posts that showcase the team’s extensive and varied experience and knowledge, as well as writing and editing content for other areas of the Hive website.

Luxury Boltholes

This was also the year that we launched a brand new website for Luxury Boltholes, which curates stylish and unique holiday homes along the south coast. We worked with owners Kate and Ed on everything from design and copywriting through to website development, with the finished product being launched just a few weeks ago.

Tresco Times

It’s always a pleasure to work on the Tresco Times, and as I write, the 2023 yearbook is just beginning to hit doorsteps. This year, it was real team effort, with the design team leading on a refined layout and photo shoots, and Megan heading over to the island to share content writing with the Tresco team. The result is (as ever) something that we can all be proud of, and a piece of print that wholly reflects the quality of the island experience.

And a few more still under wraps…

Though 2022 is coming to a close, we’re still in the midst of a number of big projects. Advertising for Cornwall Airport Newquay, a new website for Town Talk, and no fewer than three major rebrands: for Jacksons Wealth Management, Lemongrass Marketing and Trewithen. It’s set to be an exciting year ahead.

Team news

Perhaps one of the most notable things to happen this year was Nixon becoming an Employee Ownership Trust. This means that we’re now 100% employee owned (if you missed it, catch up on this blog post from April). Awareness of EOTs is now growing, which can only be a good thing – benefits include improved productivity and greater business resilience.

With Covid easing a little as the year went on, we were also able to meet more clients in person again, and even attend some events (remember those?!). Some highlights included June’s Collision conference in Canada and the Royal Cornwall Show. We also welcomed Helen and Beth to our ranks, and Diggory spent his first year as a dad to Olive (surely the coolest baby in Cornwall).

Christmas holidays

So, that’s it for 2022. We’ll be off for the holidays from Friday 23rd December, and back again – over-rested, overindulged and raring to go – on Tuesday 3rd January.

A merry Christmas to you all, and a very happy New Year.
