It’s always exciting to work with a totally new company, taking a ground-up approach to crafting an identity and marketing rooted in the team’s collective vision.

Lantic Bay Holidays is a holiday lettings agency born from a desire to improve holidaymakers’ experiences, with quality accommodation at its core. The team offers guests tips and advice for a holiday that’s tailored to them, while helping owners to keep visitors coming back year after year.

Branding

As a new company, it was particularly important for Lantic Bay Holidays to spend time thinking about its audiences and goals before producing any marketing collateral. We carried out a branding workshop with the team to discover more about the business and ultimately set out its core values and personality. With input across areas from naming to the brand essence, we were able to shape a solid foundation for growth.

To create consistency and bring the company’s personality to life within communications, we crafted a unique tone of voice for Lantic Bay Holidays. This is encapsulated within a user-friendly guide, with writing tips that the team can follow when creating text in-house.

Visual identity

As the business was born out of a genuine love for the Fowey area, we created a logo deeply rooted in Cornwall and its landscape. Our stamp-like design is based on Cornish heath, a beautiful wild plant found on the clifftops around Lantic Bay. 

Cornish heath is also known by the Latin name Erica vagans, meaning ‘wandering’, which perfectly encapsulates the way Lantic Bay Holidays encourages guests to explore this part of Cornwall. Alongside this, the brand’s colour palette is drawn directly from the landscape, evoking the sand, sea, land and air.

Photography

To complement and enhance the landscape-inspired brand identity, we commissioned and art-directed a series of location images by photographer Anya Rice. This image bank offers authentic views of Fowey and surrounding areas such as Polruan, Lostwithiel and Bodinnick. Focusing on their proximity to the water and local ‘hidden gems’, the images are unmistakably reflective of southeast Cornwall. These can be used across future marketing materials, as well as lending impact to the new Lantic Bay Holidays website.

Website design and development

The team at Lantic Bay Holidays asked us to create a website that not only appealed to both owners and guests but also showcased the landscape on their doorstep. With local knowledge and bespoke experiences forming a key part of the brand’s offering, we wanted to highlight the various ways visitors could explore Cornwall and tailor their holidays. 

Following a user experience website workshop, we created Local Area and Holiday Inspiration sections to unpick the many places, activities and attractions in and around Fowey. Property listings offer quick-view information for easy browsing, while each contains details of its suitability for specific activities such as walking and boating. These sections offer a high level of scalability, meaning that as the company grows it will be easy for the Lantic Bay Holidays team to manage and add to the website. To make the booking process easy for guests, the property section has been integrated with a third-party booking engine to allow seamless online reservations and payments.
